Compile Driver is a premier draw engine for Defect decks that utilize a diverse array of orb types, such as Lightning, Frost, Dark, and the new Glass orbs. It is most effective when played after setup cards that fill orb slots with different elements, allowing for massive hand replenishment for a low energy cost.
Rainbow
Rainbow immediately channels three distinct orb types—Lightning, Frost, and Dark—in a single play. This sets up Compile Driver to draw at least three cards instantly, providing incredible value for a 1-energy attack.
Glasswork
Glass is a new unique orb type in STS2, and cards like Glasswork help increase the variety of orbs in your slots. Adding Glass to the standard rotation increases the maximum draw potential of Compile Driver beyond traditional STS1 limits.
Runic Capacitor
This relic provides three additional orb slots, which are necessary to hold multiple unique orbs simultaneously without evoking them. More slots allow Compile Driver to reach its highest possible draw count by maintaining a diverse orb bank.
Meteor Strike
Meteor Strike channels Plasma orbs, which provide the extra energy required to play the large volume of cards drawn by Compile Driver. The synergy creates a powerful loop where Plasma fuels the energy and Compile Driver fuels the hand size.
