Blur is a cornerstone defensive tool that allows the Silent to bank excess Block during quiet turns to prepare for massive incoming attacks. It is most effective in decks with high Dexterity or efficient Block generation where you can consistently create more defense than the enemy's current intent requires.
Footwork
Footwork scales the Block value of every card played, making it much easier to generate the surplus defense that Blur needs to be effective. With high Dexterity, a single Blur can often protect the player for multiple turns by carrying over a massive defensive wall.
Burst
Using Burst to play Blur twice doubles the initial Block gain and ensures the 'Block is not removed' effect is active. This combination is a powerful way to stabilize a turn while setting up a safe window to play expensive powers or setup cards.
Dodge and Roll
Dodge and Roll provides Block for both the current and the next turn, which naturally stacks with Blur's retention effect. This creates a compounding defensive layer that makes it very difficult for enemies to chip away at the Silent's health.
Oddly Smooth Stone
The passive Dexterity provided by this relic increases the efficiency of Blur from the very first turn of combat. This immediate boost helps ensure that even early-game defensive rotations provide enough Block to trigger meaningful carry-over.
