💡 How to Use
Defend is the fundamental defensive tool for the Defect in the early game, used to mitigate chip damage while setting up orbs. As the run progresses, its value diminishes unless supported by specific dexterity scaling or cards that explicitly buff basic skills.
⚡ Synergies
Fasten
This card provides a flat 5 block increase to all Defend cards, significantly improving their energy-to-block ratio. It allows the player to keep basic cards in the deck without sacrificing defensive efficiency.
Pandora's Box
This relic replaces all low-value Defend cards with random Defect cards, which are almost always more powerful. It is the most effective way to pivot away from basic defense into a specialized build.
Oddly Smooth Stone
Provides a permanent point of Dexterity, which increases the block output of every Defend card by one. This scaling helps the basic card stay relevant against the increasing attack values of Act 2 and Act 3 enemies.
