Borrowed Time is a high-risk energy generator used to accelerate the Necrobinder's setup or power out expensive X-cost cards. It is best utilized in decks that can either win quickly through Doom execution or those that possess specific synergies that trigger when Doom is applied.
⚡ Synergies
Death's Door
Borrowed Time applies Doom to the player, which immediately satisfies the conditional requirement for Death's Door to provide its triple block effect. This combo allows the player to gain energy and massive defense simultaneously for zero combined energy cost.
Shroud
Shroud grants block whenever you apply Doom; since Borrowed Time applies Doom to yourself, it triggers this passive defense. This helps mitigate the inherent danger of the self-Doom mechanic by providing a safety net of block.
Dirge
As an X-cost card, Dirge scales directly with the extra energy provided by Borrowed Time. This allows for significantly larger Summons and more Soul generation in a single turn, accelerating the Necrobinder's companion scaling.
